Well, it's been a few days. Just spent a bit of time on my Oz (conversion) document - hoping to get it pulled together and sent to Rabbi Esther before too long. I'd like to have this done by the end of October, or into November. And the mikvah scheduling, plus the three clergy sounds like quite a project.
Also, I've been trying to get the Sukkah into such a state that it will go together easily. I have replaced the four seven-foot closet rods (15/16 of an inch diameter), but need to drill centrally-placed holes for the small dowels. The biggest challenge will be finding a way to make the 1 & 1/4 inch diameter holes in the 4x4 posts big enough so that the rods will slip through easily. I think I need some good advice.
I'm getting tired, have yoga in the morning. So, I'll be off.

Blogging from the free world
About two weeks ago, I completed a self-directed learning project, 23 Things on a Stick, where I learned to use a whole lot of Web 2.0 tools, from Flickr and podcasting to social networking and productivity tools. As part of that project, I started a blog, called Sticks on a Thing.
First, I'm really proud of myself for finding (or making) the time, and completing the program by September 15th. It required some long days and late nights, but I stuck with it. The focus of that blog was libraries. A professional focus.
Learning those tools and playing on the web, I decided that I really wanted my own personal blog. One where I can talk about the things going on in my life. Those things I spend my time on, the books I'm reading and the things I'm thinking about (when I'm not thinking about work).
I can post photos of my family, talk about my trips, and the other projects in my life (organizing the garage). And I can send links to my friends and extended family.
This blog, and my other blog start from the same 'dashboard', where I will continue to review a few interesting blogs. Two are librarian-related, and one is science-related. Maybe I can dip my toes in politics? Sports? Gardening?
I don't know how interesting this will be to read. I'm doing it for myself, and thinking about the people in my life. And I'll add some photos that make me happy.
